White Corn Tortillas (Frozen)
These tasty tortillas are made fresh in Kalihi, from Heirloom corn (non-GMO) imported from Tlaxcala, Mexico.
RAIZ tortillas are made from dried heirloom corn, using a mesoamerican process called nixtamalization that removes the kernel’s tough outer skin, making it easier to cook and make into masa. The white Chalqueño Cremoso varietal is harvested in Tlaxcala, just east of Mexico City. A classic and pitch-perfect table tortilla, Chalqueño is tender, pillowy with a soft and light starch density — perfect to eat on it’s own, maybe rolled up with a pinch of salt.
