These beautiful purple tortillas are made fresh in Kalihi, from Heirloom corn imported from Estado de Mexico & Tlaxcala.
RAIZ tortillas are made from dried heirloom corn, using a mesoamerican process called nixtamalization that removes the kernel’s tough outer skin, making it easier to cook and make into masa. The flavors of this corn is earthy, grassy, and sweet like elotes. Pairs best with beans and queso. It’s deep blue color, tender texture, and sweet flavor make it a go-to any time of day!
